SESSIONS AT HAM HILL
We are delighted to have been invited back to the Ham Hill Centre again this coming winter. We are running a couple of evening sessions, open to families and all age ranges.
WINTER SKIES
Tuesday 24th February 2009 7pm - 9pm
A practical and informative evening for all ages. The Ham Hill Centre becomes a professional observatory to study the winter night sky and seek answers to popular questions such as why stars appear to move, why the Moon looks different every night and what causes the seasons to change. Booking is essential as places are limited and warm clothing is recommended as we will be spending time outside.
The cost of this evening session is £5 for adults and £2.50 for children.
SPACE DETECTIVES
Tuesday 10th March 2009 7pm - 9pm
The Ham Hill Centre becomes Somerset’s only Earth station for the evening as we explore South Somerset by satellite. In addition to receiving live weather satellite images and using them to create our own weather forecast for the South West, we will process data from geological survey satellites to study the natural and man-made features of Ham Hill and maybe even spot the street where you live!
The cost of this evening session is £5 for adults and £2.50 for children.
To reserve places, please contact the Education Officer for the Ham Hill Centre, Grace Hall on 07971 111966 or 01935 823617 grace.hall@southsomerset.gov.uk
