POWER JUNKIES
Intended
primarily as a follow-on to the Bright Sparks Course, Power Junkies delves even
deeper into the fascinating world of modern electronic principles and
micro-sized circuits.
Practical
work and individual projects feature heavily, as students are encouraged to
explore digital principles and conduct their own experiments on specialised
training boards.
During
the weekend, we will be dismantling a computer to find out exactly how it works
and become adept at thinking in binary and hexadecimal as we understand how
digital communications can multiplex speech, pictures and data into a single
high speed channel of information.
A
Presentation to Parents at the end of the course provides an opportunity to
highlight the results of our exploration and demonstrate the technologies we
have seen.
