A practical weekend course that explores the mysterious world of radio bugs, spy transmissions and encrypted messages.

Having learnt the Phonetic Alphabet and how to record error-free messages, participants will explore the theory of radio communications using professional test equipment, experiment with some real bugs and become expert at understanding encryption techniques – the different ways of coding a message so that it can only be understood by the intended recipient………..or can it?

Top-secret electronic circuit boards have been stolen from a Government research facility and hidden at drop-off points around the grounds..  To reinforce their learning, students are sent on practical missions, tasked with receiving enciphered radio transmissions that give clues as to the whereabouts of the hidden circuits.  Organisational skills, accurate code-breaking and lateral thinking will all come into play and ensure that these irreplaceable items are safely located.

Whilst we cannot promise that the Government will offer a reward for the return of their property, we can guarantee a fun-packed and educational time!
